Description

THE KILLER SHREWS (1959, Anamorphic Widescreen) James Best, Ingrid Goulde, Gordon Mclendon, Ken Curtis. "The shrews devour everything…flesh, bones, marrow…everything.” This is what low budget, ‘50s sci-fi was supposed to be all about. Scientists breed giant, carnivorous shrews that terrorize a small island off the Texas coast. Best finds himself face to face with the long-fanged monsters.  Goulde is charming as the scientist's daughter who's afraid to tell what she knows. Poisonous and hungry these shrews are gonna clean the island and suck the marrow from your bones…burp. This fun little clichéd cheese fest moves along are a pretty quick pace. The acting is on par with the era, a bit over blown, but who cares. You have to love those shrew monsters. From a beautiful 35mm print.

GREAT INTERMISSION REEL between films!

THE GIANT GILA MONSTER (1959, Anamorphic Widescreen) Don Sullivan, Lisa Simone, Shug Fisher. Much of the same low budget charm as its companion film, THE KILLER SHREWS. A gigantic lizard terrorizes a small Texas community. It smashes cars and trains and devours people as though they were flies. A cut above your average cheapie, in that the quality of the acting, while not Shakespeare, is a bit better than most, and the shots of the monster are better integrated into the footage of the actors overall Lots of cool hot rods. Not to be missed. From a great 35mm theatrical print.

Black and white, stereo, 1959, Anamorphic Widescreen, extra features include drive-in trailers and commercials.
