Description
BLACKSTAR
Astronaut John Blackstar's shuttle passes through a black hole and crashes on the planet Sagar. He is rescued by the gentle Trobbits, who live under the tyranny of the Overlord, possessor of one half of an all-powerful sword. Armed with the other half, Blackstar aids the resistance with his dragon Warlock; the shapeshifter Klone; and the sorceress Mara.
Special features include: Interviews with the creators, Documentary, Audio Commentaries, Image Galleries, Blackstar Trivia.
In color, 286 minutes, It comes in both English or Spanish Languages on all tracks for all 13 episodes.

Blackstar DVD Set
I had NO IDEA that this show was available on DVD, so I quickly ordered it. Simple Saturday animation the way it USED to be.

Exactly Like I Remembered!
As a kid, I'd watch this show every Saturday morning at 11am on CBS. Yes, it was very similar to He-Man, so much so as having the voice talent of Teela, Linda Gray, but I didn't care--I LOVED JOHN BLACKSTAR! I wanted to wield the Power Sword (The Overlaord's) AND the Star Sword (Blackstar's). The video & audio quality are excellent, considering it's 30+ years old. This is not a bootleg, it's legit. If you loved this show then, I hope you are compelled to purchase it, and you can relieve some good ol' Saturday morning cartoon nostalgia.
