Description

A bizarre, music-driven adventure starring Mick Jagger at the height of his solo career, Running Out of Luck blends fantasy, comedy, and rock-video style storytelling into a surreal ride through Brazil.

Jagger plays a fictionalized version of himself—a rock star traveling to Rio de Janeiro to shoot a music video. What begins as a glamorous trip quickly spirals out of control when he’s robbed, kidnapped, and left stranded in the countryside. From there, he endures a series of strange and often dreamlike encounters, including life on a banana plantation run by a domineering owner, hallucinations in the heat, and a chaotic journey back toward civilization.

The film features appearances by Rae Dawn Chong, Dennis Hopper, and Jerry Hall, and is directed by Julien Temple. It also incorporates multiple songs from Jagger’s 1985 solo album She’s the Boss, giving it the feel of an extended music video mixed with a loose narrative.

Produced and co-written by Mick Jagger, this 1986 musical-comedy-adventure is unlike anything you've ever experienced...though it seems to hit pretty close to home for Mick!

Includes 9 songs written and performed by Mick Jagger.
