In the game to determine the Pac-10's Rose Bowl entry, both the Huskies (8-2) and Cougars (8-1-1) put their winning seasons on the line with the winner heading to the Rose Bowl. The Huskies needed help this day from USC who beat the UCLA Bruins that cleared the way for them if they beat the Cougars. The Cougars gave it their best and held a halftime lead but Paul Skansi makes a difficult diving catch of a 15-yard Steve Pelluer pass in the end zone, putting UW ahead in the second half. The Huskies eventually won 23-10 and would go on to beat Iowa 28-0 in the Rose Bowl. Included is the half hour pregame show with Bruce King as they recap both teams seasons and a look back 51 years to the last time the Cougars played for the Rose Bowl against the Huskies. This is the original broadcast and not an edited version from TV.
