Description
Witchtrap is a wonderfully creepy piece of late-1980s supernatural horror starring Linnea Quigley.
The movie follows a team of paranormal investigators who enter an isolated mansion with a horrifying history—and quickly discover that the haunting is far more real than they expected.
The mansion once belonged to Avery Lauter, a wealthy occultist and suspected warlock whose dark reputation included murder and black magic. After his death, the property becomes notorious for terrifying supernatural occurrences. A group of investigators is hired to determine whether the house is genuinely haunted.
Once they arrive, however, strange things begin happening almost immediately. Objects move by themselves, invisible forces attack the investigators, doors open and close without explanation, and eerie manifestations appear throughout the house. What initially seems like an investigation into paranormal activity gradually turns into a desperate fight for survival.
With its dark mansion, séances, occult rituals, possession, invisible attacks and gruesome deaths, Witchtrap has the wonderfully lurid atmosphere of classic horror. It's a particularly good choice for anyone who enjoys supernatural movies that combine haunted-house chills with the sleazy, outrageous energy of 1980s exploitation horror.
