This is a shoot out between two bitter rivals in the AFC West with the winner taking the title and the loser going home. In a very high scoring game the Seahawks win their first Western Division title in the history of the franchise. The Seahawks enter the Oakland Coliseum and a very angry crowd and put on their best at the end of a comeback season.

In 1988 Steve Largent continued to make history as he set the career record in receiving yards, as the Seahawks win their first 2 games. However in the 3rd game QB Dave Krieg suffers a shoulder separation and misses nearly 2 months as the Seahawks barely keep their head above water at 5-5. When Krieg returned the Seahawks would catch fire winning 3 of their final 4 games to capture their first AFC West title with a 9-7 record.
